Shore Conference Girls Soccer Week 3 Games of the Week

It is another week of several division matchups that you will not want to miss. Can Howell change the trend that started last season and remain the No. 1 team in the Shore Conference at the end of the week?

Tuesday, 9/24
No. 1 Howell at No. 6 Red Bank Catholic, 3:45 p.m.

The gauntlet of Class A North continues as Howell will try to remain undefeated when it travels to play Red Bank Catholic. The Caseys will try to play spoiler to the newly ranked No. 1 team in the Shore Conference. The Rebels will need to figure out how to slow down RBC standout Paige Foye, who has 11 goals this season. On the other end, the Caseys will need to slow down speedster Ashley Smith and sophomore Makenzie Memmolo.

No. 7 Point Boro at Toms River South, 7 p.m.

Point Boro is off to a 3-0 division start in their first season in Class A South and a victory over Toms River South will knock the Indians out of the race. A victory by the Indians would throw the division up for grabs. Senior Abby Hannemann has played a major role on the offensive end for the Panthers, assisting on nine out of 18 goals and scoring three herself. The Indians have had eight different goal scorers and do a good job getting everyone involved on the field.

Thursday, 9/26
No.6  Red Bank Catholic at No. 2 Middletown South, 3:45 p.m.

The Caseys play the top two teams in the Shore Conference and two wins might get them into the top spot next week. Middletown South is one of the most complete teams in the conference with strong forwards, a talented midfield and a well-organized defense.

No. 3 Lacey at No. 8 Central,  6:30 p.m.

Lacey is one of three remaining undefeated teams in the Shore Conference. The Lions have a three-headed monster on the offensive end with Natalie McGovern, Reece Paget and Mackenzie Brotherston leading the way. Central is on a three-game winning streak, picking up a Class A South victory over rival Toms River South last week. The Golden Eagles replaced a good portion of their starting lineup and it looks like they are starting to put the new pieces together.

Saturday, 9/28
No. 9 Toms River East at Toms River South, 10 a.m.

The Indians have emerged as the best team in Toms River over the last few seasons and will look to continue that trend. The Raiders defense has been one of the best all season, only allowing one goal all season.
