Shore Conference Softball Scoreboard Wednesday, April 2

Class A North

No. 5 Middletown North 5, No. 4 Marlboro 4

Two of the Shore Conference’s best pitchers battled each other in a back and forth game. Madilynn Boyce of Middletown North and Emily Gaudio of Marlboro both struck out 11 batters, but Boyce walked out the with the victory, getting out of jams including ending the game with the tying run on second base.

Adrianna Lisotto went 2-for-4 with a RBI double in the top of the 7th inning. Boyce followed that with a line drive single that drove in a run. Hailey Plath drove in two runs on a double in the top of the 5th for Middletown North.

Gaudio only allowed one earned run for Marlboro after they committed two errors. She also went 1-for-3 with a RBI single in the bottom of the 7th to make it a 5-2 game. Adison Ditillo followed that with a two-run double to make it 5-4, but Marlboro could not bring in Ditillo.

 

No. 1 St. John Vianney 5, No. 7 Colts Neck 1

Junior Madison McDougall struck out 14 batters and did not allow an earned run to help SJV win their second game of the season. McDougall also went 2-for-2 with a triple and two runs scored. SJV connected on three home runs coming from Elisabeth Figliolino, Mia Favato, and Olivia Lombardi.

Junior Angela Sasso struck out 9 batters and went 2-for-3 at the plate for Colts Neck.

No. 3 Red Bank Catholic 9, Freehold Township 2

RBC scored six runs in the bottom of 2nd inning and hit three home runs in the game to improve to 2-0. Senior Lily Hagan struck out 10 batters in the victory and drove in a run at the plate. Sophomore Grace Lombardi went 3-for-4 with a triple and RBI and Brianna Santangelo went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Caseys. Lana Rudolph and Jayden Kane both went yard for the Caseys with Kane hitting her second in two games.

 

Class B North

Raritan 15, Freehold Boro 3

Raritan scored a combined 14 runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to win their second game of the season. Janelle Clausi went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Madison Regiec went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs for Raritan. Freshman Lila Houlihan struck our four batters to earn the win for the Rockets.

No. 10 Middletown South 3, Matawan 2

Middletown South scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning for a come-from-behind victory and improve to 2-0 on the season. Sophomore Riley Smith struck out 15 batters for the Eagles. Sophomore Celia Collings went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Middletown South.

Senior Madeline DeChristopher went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and two RBIs for Matawan.

Monmouth 3, Holmdel 2 (9 Innings)

After Holmdel scored two runs in the top of the 1st inning, Monmouth scored two in the bottom of the 6th inning and scored the game winner in the bottom of the 9th to win their first game of the season. Emma Riccardi went 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBIs for Monmouth. Samantha Mahoney struck out 9 batters to win her first game of the season. Mahoney also had the game winning single in the 9th inning.

Julia Henderson struck out 14 batters for Holmdel.

 

Class C North

Manalapan 15, Ocean 8

Trailing 7-4 in the bottom of the 5th inning, Manalapan scored nine runs to win their third game of the season. Mary Kovaleski went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs and Elissa Lieberman went 4-for-4 with three RBIs for Manalapan. Sophomore Sophia Miranda went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and earned the victory on the mound for the Braves.

Senior Jillian Scotto went 2-for-3 with a home run and three runs scored and Nathalie Staten went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for Ocean.

St. Rose 11, Henry Hudson 1

Shore Regional 17, Keansburg 0

Junior Dylann Lawrence pitched a no-hitter and struck out 11 batters to lead Shore to their third win of the season. Lawrence also went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Senior Angela Christopher reached the 100 hit milestone, going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Both Ayden Kampf and Olivia DeFonce hit their second home runs of the season. Kampf finished with four RBIs and DeFonce went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

Rumson-Fair Haven 8, Neptune 4

Rumson scored three runs in both the 4th and 5th innings and added two more for insurance in the 6th to win start the season 2-0. Senior Lilee Martinelle struck out 16 batters on the mound for the Bulldogs. Reyna Dermer went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Rumson.

Senior Gianna Massimino went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs for Neptune.

 

Coastal

Trinity Hall 11, Brick Township 3

Trinity Hall opened the game up with three runs in the top of the 1st inning and added six more in the top of the 2nd to win their first game of the season. Sophomore Emma Mullins struck out 15 batters and only allowed two hits for the Monarchs. Helen Taylor went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs for Trinity Hall.

Junior Elizabeth Kecskes went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for Brick Township.

Long Branch at Jackson Liberty, 4 p.m.

Keyport 26, Lakewood 10

Madelyn Pinto went 1-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs and Ava Mitchell went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs to help Keyport win their season opener. Nicolette Sickles struck out six batters in the win.

Celine Castro went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs and Genai Crudup went 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs scored for Lakewood.

 

Non-Divisional

No. 2 Donovan Catholic 18, Toms River South 2
