Read through each wrestler’s accomplishments and cast your votes. This week’s poll will close on Sunday at 11 p.m.

Week 11 – NJSIAA District Tournaments

 

Joey DeAngelo, Sr., 126, Point Boro

DeAngelo won his third district title with a 7-3 victory over Jackson Liberty junior returning state qualifier Tucker Pazinko to take the District 23 126-pound championship, helping the Panthers win the team title with a record six individual champions.

 

Alex Delaurier, Sr., 150, Raritan

Delaurier earned his 100th career win during the District 19 quarterfinals and secured his third district title later in the day. He is the fourth wrestler in program history with three district championships.

 

Michael DiBiase, Sr., 113, Red Bank Catholic

DiBias won his fourth district title by claiming the District 27 113-pound title, which helped the Caseys win their first district team title in program history.

 

Joseph Dunne, Jr., 165, Central

Dunne won the District 26 165-pound title as the No. 3 seed to become Central’s first district champion since 2022.

 

Aidan Flynn, Jr., 126, Lacey

Flynn won his first district title with an 11-4 win over Toms River East freshman Jayce Cappello in the District 26 126-pound final, helping the Lions out-point Southern to win the team title.

 

Tanner Hodgins, So., 190, Howell

Hodgins won the District 24 190-pound title with three pins that helped the Rebels edge Wall by half a point to win the team title. It is Hodgins’ second district title.

 

Gavin Martin, Sr., 126, Brick Memorial

Martin (and teammate Harvey Ludington) became the seventh and eighth wrestlers in program history to win four district titles when he won the District 122 126-pound bracket.

 

Armani McCann, Jr., 138, Jackson Liberty

McCann returned for the District 23 Tournament after missing five weeks with an injury and delivered a major-decision victory over Ocean sophomore returning state qualifier Dominic Volek to win the 138-pound title.

 

Ethan Michaels, Jr., 113, Colts Neck

Michaels won 4-0 over Freehold Township’s Jaxon Zalepka in the District 21 113-pound final to become Colts Neck’s eighth multi-time district champion.

 

Michael O’Connor, Sr., 150, Manasquan

O’Connor won the District 23 150-pound title to become Manasquan’s fourth wrestler in program history with multiple district titles and the first since 1980.

 

Colin Palumbo, Sr., 165, Matawan

Palumbo won the 165-pound bracket at the District 20 Tournament to become the first three-time district champion in program history.

 

Wyatt Pharo, Jr., 132, Pinelands

After missing all of his sophomore season with an injury, Pharo returned to capture his second district title when he won the District 26 132-pound championship.

 

Brett Rankin, Jr., 215, Toms River South

Rankin won the District 26 215-pound bracket as the No. 3 seed to snap a five-year district championship drought for the Indians.

 

Alex Reyes, Jr., 190, Holmdel

Reyes joined John Mullan as the only three-time district champions in program history when he won the District 20 title and led Holmdel to the team championship.

 

Matt Smith, Sr., Hwt, Rumson-Fair Haven

Smith won his first district title at the District 18 Tournament to become Rumson’s first heavyweight district champ since 1970.

 

Wyatt Stout, Sr., 157, Southern

Stout became the Rams’ fourth four-time district champ when he won the District 26 157-pound title.

 

Cole Torres, So., 175, Shore

Torres ended a two-year drought for the Blue Devils by winning the District 23 175-pound title, his first district championship.

 

Boomer Volek, Sr., 144, Ocean

Volek won his first district title by winning the District 23 144-pound title with a pin, a technical fall, and an 8-6 win over Point Beach’s Jude Bowers.

 

Ryan Wolf, Sr., 175, Jackson Memorial

Wolf had one of the best wins of districts weekend when he stunned CBA sophomore returning state medalist Brock Oizerowitz, 14-9, to win the District 21 175-pound title.

 

Jake Zaltsman, Sr., 144, St. John Vianney

Zaltsman, along with fellow seniors Patrick O’Keefe and Anthony Knox, became the first four-time district champions in program history. Zaltsman won the District 25 144-pound title with two pins in under a minute and a 15-0 technical fall in the final.
