Central Defensive End Elijah Reeder Decommits from Iowa State, Reopens Recruitment
The departure of Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell, who took the head coaching position at Penn State, has been followed by Central defensive end Elijah Reeder decommitting from the Cyclones and reopening his recruitment after signing with them two weeks ago.
Reeder also could potentially follow Campbell to his new destination in the Big Ten. The Golden Eagles senior announced on X on Tuesday that he is no longer committed to Iowa State and that his “recruitment is now 100% open.”
First off I wanted to thank lowa State for giving me with the opportunity to be a Cyclone. After a lot of prayer and conversations with my family, I have decided to De-Commit from lowa State University. With that being said my recruitment is now 100% open! pic.twitter.com/W7wfTN5BPV

The Shore Sports Insider All-Shore selection then followed by announcing he has received an offer from Penn State, Campbell’s new home.
Reeder signed his financial aid agreement with Iowa State on Dec. 3, but if a coach leaves the school after a player has signed, he is granted his release from the agreement without penalty.
The 6-foot-6 defensive end, who is now in the midst of basketball season for Central, had 49 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss and 8 sacks this season for the 8-win Golden Eagles, who finished No. 11 in the Shore Sports Insider Top 12 rankings. He was an All-Class B South pick by the coaches.
He had offers from FCS programs New Haven, Bryant University and Monmouth University before securing his first FBS offer from Iowa State two days before he signed with the Cyclones.
Reeder is considered a three-star recruit by 247Sports and rated as the No. 56 edge prospect nationally and No. 9 among the senior class in New Jersey.
