Central 4, Manchester 2
Jack Tietjen went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI and Tyler Woermer led four Central pitchers in a Golden Eagles (11-10) win over the Hawks (8-17) that marked their sixth straight win.
Woermer pitched the first three innings and did not allow a run while striking out four. Manchester scored two runs against Jacob Halpin in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Mike Fink and an RBI double by Brody Boyd. Jayden Policastro followed with a scoreless fifth inning and two strikeouts and Kam Schlueter closed it out with two scoreless frames and three punchouts.
St. John Vianney 9, Barnegat 7
Wyatt Lewis hit a tie-breaking two-run triple with two out in the top of the seventh inning and Joe Weber finished off 3 1/3 innings of scoreless work with with a clean bottom of the seventh, giving the Lancers (14-9) a tight win over the Bengals (8-16). Weber struck out five while walking one and allowing two hits.
Mike Capaldo and Luke Jaafar-Bodnar each hit a double for SJV, with Jaafar-Bodnar driving in two runs and scoring two. Chris Pizzirusso also went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI for the Lancers.
Nick Bruno carried the Barnegat offense by going 4-for-4 with a double, home run, three runs scored and three RBI.
No. 6 Brick Memorial 4, No. 4 Red Bank Catholic 0
Brody Moore struck out nine in four shutout innings and went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead the Mustangs (18-7) over the Caseys (17-7), giving Brick Memorial a season split with RBC after losing to the Caseys in Brick earlier this month.
Will Montanye finished the game on the mound with three more scoreless frames and four strikeouts. The combined shutout was enough to out-duel RBC starter Glen Popes, who allowed two runs on seven hits with two walks and nine strikeouts over six innings, during which he reached the single-game limit with 115 pitches.
Tyler Garbooshian also went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored for Brick Memorial. Luke Lonczak starred for RBC at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Middletown North 9, Red Bank 2
Rob Cutolo pitched into the sixth inning to earn the win and Brady Kernan drove in three runs in a 2-for-2 day at the plate to help pace the Lions (13-10) to a win over the Bucs (13-11). Derek Thoms went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI while both Ryan Clark (2-for-4) and Danny Sigler (1-for-3) each chipped in a double at the plate for Middletown North.
Wall 10, Lacey 4
Chris Knight highlighted a six-run third inning with a tie-breaking two-run single and Christian Suarez allowed one run on one hit over five innings of relief to spark the Crimson Knights (17-7) to a road win over the Lions (14-9).
Jackson Soos got Wall on the board with an RBI double and Luke Dana (3-for-4 with a double and two RBI) followed with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 3-2. Frank Soos (2-for-4) tied the game with an RBI single and Knight (2-for-4) gave the Crimson Knights a 5-3 lead with his two-run single. Starting pitcher John Catanio also went 2-for-4 with an RBI at the plate.
Lacey jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to a two-run double by Logan Resetar and an RBI single by starting pitcher Dalton Johnson. Resetar later added a third RBI on a sacrifice fly in the seventh and Evan Greenberge was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a run scored.
Middletown South 3, Toms River North 3 (5 Innings)
The Eagles (4-17-1) scored what would have been the go-ahead run on a balk by the Mariners (10-12-1) in the top of the sixth inning, but the game was called due to rain and reverted back to the score at which the fifth inning ended.
Matt Korth doubled, scored a run and drove one in and both Jack Concordia and Mike Mullane added a triple for Middletown South.

New Egypt 6, Maple Shade 1
Nolan Arnold pitched a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks while also going 2-for-4 with an RBI in the batter’s box to carry the Warriors (8-13) over the Wildcats (13-9). Paul Kennedy was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI out of the No. 9 spot in the order for New Egypt and Evan Goldberg was 2-for-3 in the win.
Brick 6, Franklin 2
Brayden Heatter and Zach Martin each went 2-for-3 with an RBI out of the top two spots in the batting order while Gavin Majors pitched a four-hit complete game to power the Green Dragons (7-17) to a win over the Warriors (7-11). Martin and Joe Lohmeyer each doubled and drove in a run for Brick as well.
Pinelands 11, St. Joseph Hammonton 8
Chris Husni and Jacob Haywood each went 2-for-4 at the plate, with Husni driving in two and Haywood driving in one with a double as the Wildcats (15-8) built up a 10-1 lead by the top of the fourth inning on the way to a win over the Wildcats (9-13). Freshman Sawyer Hodgdon allowed one unearned run in two innings of relief to earn the save after five innings from winning pitcher Ethan Kuna, who also went 1-for-3 with a triple, two runs and two RBI at the plate.
Manasquan 5, Hamilton West 4
Down to its final out, Manasquan erupted for all five of its runs in the bottom of the seventh, capped by a game-winning two-run double by Mike Loffredo that gave the Warriors (13-9) a walk-off win over the Hornets (9-13) on Senior Day.
Matt Antonucci began the rally by belting a two-run home run with two out to cut the deficit to 4-2. Kellan Quinn continued the rally with a single and after Liam Opatosky was hit by a pitch, Ethan Even-Esh put the ball in play and reached on an error, with Quinn scoring on the play. Loffredo then lifted his winning double to center to score both Opatosky and Even-Esh.
Opatosky also earned the win on the mound by pitching a scoreless top of the seventh inning. Antonucci and Quinn each finished 2-for-4.
Manalapan 7, North Bergen 0 (6 Innings)
Jagger Golden and three other pitchers combined on a six-inning, four-hit shutout and three Manalapan players collected two hits to key a Braves (14-12) win over the Bruins (15-11). Golden fired three scoreless innings with two hits and no walks while striking out five. Noah Feldman, Josh Sosinov and James Vitucci each followed with a scoreless inning.
Sosinov was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Anthony Foti went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, and P.J. Pape was 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Manalapan offense.
Point Boro 10, JFK-Iselin 0 (5 Innings)
John Loizos and Mike Metcalfe combined on a one-hitter and Nick Carmino went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two runs scored and an RBI to highlight a one-sided win for the Panthers (16-9) over the Mustangs (7-17). Loizos allowed one hit over four innings with four strikeouts before Metcalfe finished the game with a scoreless fifth inning.
Loizos also went 2-for-3 with a double, Jake Clayton was 1-for-2 with a double, run scored and an RBI, and Jaden Druiett went 2-for-2 with a run scored in the win.
